Vacancy Detail

Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures e.g., chimney stack. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.

The main duties and tasks of a Bricklaying Apprentice are:
• General labouring, tidying of site, and tool/equipment fetching
• Mixing and turning mortar, loading boards
• Moving, stacking, and passing bricks
• Laying of bricks and blocks

As with any trade apprenticeship, you will spend up to 6 months doing general work relating to the trade. The quicker you learn these tasks and showcase your work ethic and ability, the quicker you will progress into laying bricks/blocks.
