Brief Description
We are looking for Wandsworth borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Bricklaying apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 30 months working as a Brickwork Apprentice as part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship and Flexi-Job Scheme, employed by Evolve Apprentices.
Qualifications Required
English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Maths GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Skills Required
IT Skills, Attention to detail, Problem solving skills, Team working, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness
Training to be Provided
Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
Future Prospects
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can progress into a Level 3 Advanced Bricklaying qualification or seek work as a qualified Trainee Bricklayer where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior bricklaying position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or brickwork business owner.
You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after completing the level 2 qualification.
Vacancy Detail
The main duties and tasks of a Bricklaying Apprentice are:
• General labouring, tidying of site, and tool/equipment fetching
• Mixing and turning mortar, loading boards
• Moving, stacking, and passing bricks
• Laying of bricks and blocks
Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures e.g., chimney stack. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
