What will the apprentice be doing?
As an apprentice Electrician you will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments. Electricians might work in both indoor and outdoor settings. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. They can work on their own proficiently and work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you would be working to is the Level 3 Electrical Installation (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a college to provide the training.
This training will mainly be through remote learning with a paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary though most assessments will be done on site. You will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Electrician where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or Electrical installation business owner.
You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 3 qualification.
