Brief Description
We are looking for Waltham Forrest borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Bricklaying apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 24 months working as a Brickwork Apprentice part of the CITB Shared Apprenticeship and Flexi-Job Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while earning a wage, gaining a skilled workers card.
Qualifications Required
English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Maths GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Personal Qualities
Able to work on site, keen learner, resident of Waltham Forrest borough
Skills Required
IT skills, Attention to detail, Problem-solving skills, Teamwork, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness
Training to be Provided
Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

Bricklayers lay bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures e.g., chimney stack. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
The main duties and tasks of a Bricklaying Apprentice are:
• General labouring, tidying of site, and tool/equipment fetching
• Mixing and turning mortar, loading boards
• Moving, stacking, and passing bricks
• Laying of bricks and blocks
As with any trade apprenticeship, you will spend up to 6 months doing general work relating to the trade. The quicker you learn these tasks and showcase your work ethic and ability, the quicker you will progress into laying bricks/blocks. This work will still be beneficial for adding to your portfolio and skillset.
