Brief Description

We are looking for Hackney borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Property Maintenance apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 24 months working as a Property Maintenance Apprentice as part of the CITB / Flexi-Job Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while completing the apprenticeship.

English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)

Training to be Provided

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

Future Prospects

On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Property Maintenance Operative where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a specific trade apprenticeship, work as a property maintenance manager, or multi skilled technician.

You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after completion of your apprenticeship.

What will the apprentice be doing?

This apprenticeship covers multiple trades and is a good entry level, multi-trade role into construction that can allow for progression into specific trades you may not already qualify for.

The job role of a property maintenance operative involves the following duties:
• Learning basic skills in multiple trades such as maintenance painting tasks, maintenance tiling tasks, maintenance plumbing tasks, electrical testing and repairs, maintain heating ventilation and air conditioning plant, and internal and external building fabric maintenance
• Ensuring properties meet H&S regulations; Learning and working within construction H&S policies
• Working with various trade teams on site in a supporting role
• General labouring and tidying on site

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The qualification you would be working to is the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a college to provide the training.

This training will mainly be through either remote learning or attending college one day per week, with a paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel if needed for training and assessments. You will be responsible for managing/arranging with your line manager.
