Brief Description

We are looking for Hillingdon residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Carpentry apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 24 months working as a Carpentry Apprentice as part of the CITB / Flexi-Job Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while completing the apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Maths GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)

Training to be Provided

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

Future Prospects

On completion of this apprenticeship, you can progress into the Level 3 Advanced qualification or work as a qualified Junior Carpenter where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior carpentry position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or carpentry business owner.

You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 2 qualification.

Vacancy Detail

Carpentry Apprentices can work in the below stages of a project.

- First fix carpenters build framing and first fix work such as floor and roofing structures & walls, and bulkheads
- Second fix carpenters work on the final product such as doors, architraves, skirting boards, shelves, stair handrails and balustrades
- Kitchen fitters, as the name suggests, fit kitchens and other cabinetry
- General labouring, moving materials, and tidying of site is expected of all workers on site, especially apprentices
- As you progress, you will be trained in the use of power tools, such as nail guns

The qualification you would gain is Level 2 Carpentry (Standard).

This training will be via attending college with paid study time as needed up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary for training and/or assessments. You will be responsible for managing/arranging with your line manager.
